Brow Lamination in Kathmandu: 2026 Price, How Long It Lasts & vs Microblading

September 2, 2026 6 min read

Search for brow lamination in Kathmandu and you will find prices from a few hundred rupees to several thousand, with almost no explanation of what separates them. Brow lamination is a chemical treatment on your own hairs — done correctly it gives you six to eight weeks of full, brushed-up brows, and done badly it leaves them frizzy, over-processed and snapping off. This guide covers the 2026 price, how long it really lasts, who it suits, and when you should choose microblading or nano brows instead.

What brow lamination is

Brow lamination is a perm for your eyebrow hairs. A softening solution breaks the bonds in the hair so it can be brushed into a new direction, then a neutralising solution locks it there. The result is a fuller, fluffier, lifted brow, because hairs that used to grow downwards or sideways now sit upwards and fill the gaps. Nothing is added to your face — no pigment, no extensions — which is why it is the lowest-commitment brow treatment we offer.

Our brow lamination service starts at NPR 2,500, takes 45 to 60 minutes, and includes a nourishing treatment at the end to put moisture back into the hair. Most clients pair it with a brow shape and wax from NPR 500 so the new shape is cleaned up in the same visit.

Who it suits best

  • Downward-growing or unruly hairs that never sit where you brush them.
  • Sparse patches in the middle or tail of the brow that get covered once hairs are lifted.
  • Anyone not ready for pigment. Lamination washes out of your routine in six to eight weeks with no permanent commitment.
  • Straight, flat brows that need lift and a visible arch.

It works less well on very short brow hairs — there simply is not enough length to redirect — and on brows that are genuinely thin from over-plucking or a gap in growth. If there is no hair, there is nothing to laminate, and that is the point at which permanent makeup becomes the honest recommendation.

Brow treatment prices in Kathmandu (2026)

Treatment Price (NPR) Time Lasts
Brow Lamination From 2,500 45–60 min 6–8 weeks
Brow Shape & Wax From 500 20–30 min 3–4 weeks
Microblading 15,000 90–120 min 1–3 years
PMU Nano Brows 32,500 120–150 min 2–3 years
Lash Lift & Tint From 2,500 45–60 min 6–8 weeks

Be wary of a lamination quoted at NPR 800–1,200. The solutions used in this treatment are strong, time-sensitive chemicals, and the cost of doing it properly is the technician standing over you with a timer, not the product itself. Leaving lotion one on for eight minutes instead of four is what produces frizzy, straw-textured brows — and once brow hair is over-processed, the only fix is waiting for it to grow out.

Lamination vs microblading: which do you actually need?

The simplest way to decide is to look in the mirror and brush your brows upwards with a spoolie.

  • If the brushed-up shape looks full and you like it — lamination will give you that look for six to eight weeks. Start there.
  • If there are still visible bald patches when the hair is lifted — you need pigment, not a perm. Microblading creates hair-like strokes for normal to dry skin, and nano brows use a machine and a single fine needle for a crisper, longer-lasting result that also works on oily skin.
  • If you want both — many clients do. Have the PMU healed first, then laminate the natural hairs around it. Never on the same day.

How long it lasts, and why yours might fade faster

Six to eight weeks is the honest range, and it is governed by your own hair cycle: as new hairs grow in unlaminated, the effect softens. Yours will drop off sooner if you sleep face-down, use oil-based cleansers or heavy oils on the brow area, or swim regularly in chlorinated water. It will last longer if you brush the brows up daily and apply a drop of nourishing oil at night once the first 24 hours have passed.

The first 24 hours matter most

Keep the brows completely dry for 24 hours — no washing the face over them, no steam, no sweat, no makeup. Water in the first day is what causes uneven set and kinked hairs. After that, brush them into shape each morning and treat them gently.

Safety: what a good technician does

  1. Patch tests you 24–48 hours before, especially if you have never had a lamination or tint before.
  2. Uses a timer, not judgement, for each solution — processing time changes with hair thickness and condition.
  3. Turns you away if your brows are already over-processed, if you have broken skin, active eczema or psoriasis on the brow, or if you have had a chemical peel or laser in the area recently.
  4. Spaces your appointments at least six weeks apart. Laminating every three weeks to chase the fresh look is the fastest way to damage the hair.
  5. Finishes with a conditioning treatment rather than sending you out with dry, chemically opened hair.

Frequently asked questions

How much does brow lamination cost in Kathmandu?

Brow lamination at Artistry Academy starts at NPR 2,500 and takes 45 to 60 minutes. Most clients add a brow shape and wax from NPR 500 in the same appointment so the new lifted shape is cleaned up at the edges.

How long does brow lamination last?

Six to eight weeks for most people. The effect softens as new, unlaminated hairs grow through. Sleeping face-down, oil-based cleansers and chlorinated pools all shorten it, while daily brushing and a nightly nourishing oil extend it.

Does brow lamination damage your eyebrows?

Not when it is done with correct processing times, a conditioning finish and at least six weeks between appointments. Damage comes from leaving the solution on too long or repeating the treatment too often, which leaves hairs frizzy and brittle until they grow out.

Is brow lamination better than microblading?

They solve different problems. Lamination redirects the hair you already have and lasts six to eight weeks. Microblading and nano brows add pigment where hair is missing and last one to three years. Brush your brows upward with a spoolie — if gaps remain, you need pigment rather than lamination.

Can I get brow lamination and tint together?

Yes, and they are usually done in the same appointment, with the tint applied after the neutralising step so the freshly opened hair takes colour evenly. Tell your technician if you have sensitive skin so a patch test is done first.

What should I avoid after brow lamination?

Keep the brows dry for 24 hours — no washing over them, no steam, sauna, gym sweat or makeup. After the first day, avoid oil-based cleansers directly on the brows and brush the hairs into shape each morning.
