You have finished your training and now you need to actually equip yourself. This is the checklist we give our own graduates: every category a working permanent makeup artist needs, what each item costs in Nepal in 2026, and roughly what a complete starter setup comes to. All prices are for genuine Goochie equipment — Artistry Academy is the authorized distributor for Nepal.
1. The machine
Start sensibly. You do not need a NPR 138,000 machine to do good work in your first year.
- Goochie Tough Guy PMU Machine — NPR 42,550 (recommended first machine)
- Black Ghost PMU Machine — NPR 45,500
- Goochie A8 Rocket PMU Machine Kit — NPR 53,360 (machine plus starter accessories)
- Goochie G6 PMU Machine Kit — NPR 138,000 (full professional studio kit)
2. Power supply
Only needed if your machine does not include one. Stable voltage is what gives you consistent needle depth.
- Goochie Q3 Power Supply — NPR 12,500
- Goochie V3 Power Supply — NPR 24,000
3. Manual microblading tools
Even if you work mainly with a machine, manual tools have their place for crisp hair strokes on suitable skin.
- Goochie Manual Pen — NPR 1,380
- Goochie Microblades — NPR 5,980 – 6,440
4. Cartridge needles
Match these to your machine — cartridges are not interchangeable between units.
- G6 Cartridge Needles — NPR 6,900
- A8 Cartridge Needles — NPR 6,900
- M8 Cartridge Needles — NPR 6,900
- PRO Cartridge Needles — NPR 4,830
- Twilight Cartridge Needles — NPR 3,680
This is your main recurring cost. Track how many you use per month from day one so you can price your services properly.
5. Pigments
Buy a range of undertones, not several bottles from the same tonal family.
- VIP Goochie Pigment Set — NPR 24,000 (recommended starting point)
- Eyebrow Creamy Pigment — NPR 4,150
- Paste PMU Pigment — NPR 4,150
- New 8 Eyebrow Pigment — NPR 4,500
- Goochie 35 Pigment — NPR 7,245
- 18 Watery-Based Pigment — NPR 7,350
6. Brow mapping tools
Mapping is what makes brows symmetrical. Do not improvise this.
- Eyebrow Shape Design Ruler — NPR 2,760
- Goochie Waterproof Design Pencil — NPR 1,500
7. Practice skins
Non-negotiable while you build muscle memory after certification.
- Eyebrow Practice Skin — NPR 2,200
- 3D Practice Skin — NPR 4,500
8. Hygiene and disposables
The category beginners under-buy and inspectors and clients notice first.
- Disposable Sterilised Articles Set — NPR 1,265
- Disposable Colour Cups — NPR 2,000
- Cleaning Spray — NPR 1,650
- Cleaning Gel — NPR 1,550
9. Client comfort and aftercare
Aftercare products are also a retail opportunity — clients need them and will otherwise buy something unsuitable.
- Numbing Products — NPR 2,400
- Goochie Aftercare Repair Gel — NPR 1,250
- Cool Spot Sense — NPR 18,500
10. Studio accessories
- Machine Holder — NPR 1,950
- Cup & Machine Holder — NPR 1,950
- Goochie Handbag — NPR 3,500 (useful if you travel to clients)
What a starter setup actually costs
A realistic entry-level kit — Tough Guy machine, Q3 power supply, VIP pigment set, one box of cartridges, mapping ruler and pencil, both practice skins, disposables, cleaning products and numbing — comes to roughly NPR 100,000 to 110,000.
Set that against your service pricing: microblading at NPR 15,000 and nano brows at NPR 32,500 per client. Your equipment pays for itself within roughly seven microblading appointments, or four nano brow appointments.
If you would rather have the equipment bundled with training, the 14-day Ultimate Brows Masterclass at NPR 1,65,000 includes a master kit box worth NPR 75,000, and the one-week Microblading and Microshading course at NPR 95,000 includes a professional microblading kit.
What to buy later, not now
Resist over-buying. Skip the top-tier machines, the large pigment library and the premium comfort accessories until you know which techniques you actually use. Most artists discover within six months that they specialise — and the equipment for that specialism is what deserves the investment.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a microblading starter kit cost in Nepal?
A realistic entry-level PMU setup — machine, power supply, pigment set, cartridges, mapping tools, practice skins, disposables and aftercare — comes to roughly NPR 100,000 to 110,000 using genuine Goochie equipment. Buying a machine kit such as the A8 Rocket at NPR 53,360 can reduce the total.
What equipment do I need to start doing microblading professionally?
At minimum: a PMU machine or manual pen, a power supply if the machine needs one, cartridge needles matched to your machine, a range of pigments covering different undertones, brow mapping tools, practice skins, disposable hygiene supplies, and numbing and aftercare products.
Should I buy an expensive PMU machine as a beginner?
No. The Goochie Tough Guy at NPR 42,550 or Black Ghost at NPR 45,500 are genuine professional machines that will handle your first year comfortably. Most artists specialise within six months, and that is the point at which a higher-end machine becomes a sensible investment.
How long before my PMU equipment pays for itself?
At typical Kathmandu service prices — NPR 15,000 for microblading and NPR 32,500 for nano brows — a starter setup of around NPR 105,000 is covered by roughly seven microblading clients or four nano brow clients.
Which PMU supplies are recurring costs?
Cartridge needles, pigments, disposable colour cups, sterilised article sets, cleaning products and numbing agents all need regular replacement. Track your monthly consumption from the start so your service pricing reflects the real cost per appointment.
Can I buy PMU supplies in Nepal without a certificate?
We supply professional equipment to trained artists and students. If you are not yet trained, we would strongly encourage completing a course first — pigment in skin is not reversible, and buying equipment before training is the wrong order.
